Personal reflection of the competence

Culture gives organizations a sense of distinctiveness and determines, through the organization’s folklores, rituals, beliefs, meanings, values, norms and language, the way in which things are done in that particular place. An organizations’ culture captures what it has been good at and what has worked in the past. In our local church, we have tried to build a system of management of the administrative processes and of the intellectual capital through the use of proper tools for the development of an organizational culture of quality. We have tried to develop norms, which are the expected patterns of behaviors within our church. They are behavior that are vital for the well being of the Church itself. For example, everyone is aware of what is expected of them if their department is supposed to have a program. The time to start, the time to finish, the unacceptable outfits, what can be served in the fellowship hall, what can’t, etc., these are some of the things that are part of the church’s systems of management of the administrative processes. They are established behavior pattern that is part of our local church’s culture.
