Personal reflection of the competence

There is negotiation when formal discussion between people is involved in order to reach an agreement. Normally, there will be two different point of views with common interest and issues of conflict. And I believe if there is no common interests there is nothing to negotiate about, and if there are no conflicting point of views, there is nothing to negotiate about either. Often times, in church board or elders board, we find ourselves negotiating between two church departments over a program they would love to take place.

So we remind everyone of the importance of managing interdependence, which is a key element of negotiation. Thus, they need to be mindful of the fact that they need the help of other people to fulfill their objectives. Moreover, they should have mutual understanding to obtain their personal benefit as a result. This is known as a mutual adjustment in negotiation. And most importantly, I remind the parties that they are working for God. They should respect each other. No one should be going home angry.
