Personal reflection of the competence
I was fortunate to be born in a Country, Haiti, where you need to learn 5 languages before you graduate from High School: French, Creole, Spanish, English, and Latin. Therefore, we love languages. And in our churches, language plays a major role. We have those who came from Haiti, those who were born in this country, USA, those who did not go to far in school, and those who were born in Dominican Republic, which is Haiti’s Neighbor. Because of that, we have used the help of the Technology Communication Department to assist those who don’t speak or understand another language. Language represents so much more than just a system of communication. It symbolizes group membership. Language refers to multiple ways to communicate. We enjoy speaking different languages.
